Samir Amin
(b.1931 in Egypt) was educated in Paris. He is one of the most important Neo-Marxian thinkers, in development theory as well as in the relativistic-cultural critique of social sciences. Samir is director of Forum du Tiers Monde in Dakar, Senegal. His numerous books include Eurocentrism (1988), L'empire du chaos (Empire of Chaos, 1991) and Au-delà du capitalisme (Spectres of Capitalism, 1998).
